Swedish Flower Hen
Swedish Flower Hen crested pullet, one of the rare chicken breeds I raise.
Catskill Homesteader chicken
"Blueberry", a Catskill Homesteader hen, is part of the breeding project I'm working on.
Welcome to one of New York State's
small scale breeders of
rare chicken breeds, including Bielefelders,
Swedish Flower Hens and
Catskill Homesteaders.
We also raise Muscovy Ducks and
Narragansett Turkeys.
Our poultry not only provide us
with eggs and meat,
but also help make rich, dark compost for
our Back to Eden Gardening.
an Upstate Ny family farm located in
a gorgeous river valley
raising pastured chickens, ducks, geese,
turkeys, rabbits, grass-fed sheep & goats.
Our pastured poultry help fertilize
our fields, convert food waste into compost, while producing
eggs, meat, chicks & young stock
for our family and others.

We are not a commercial hatchery,
just a homsteading farm selling hatching eggs,
chicks, pullets, cockerels, meat chickens & more
to individuals who are interested in
"buying local" and supporting the efforts
of "returning to the land".
In 2023, we have expanded our hatching equipment,
with the goal of being able to hatch year-round.
At Paradise in Disguise Hobby Farm, we raise our animals
with love, compassion, understanding, and lots of grace.
Our all-natural methods promote stewardship of the land, and as such, we don't use hormones, antibiotics or herbicides.
We are a "work in progress", always learning and adjusting
our animal husbandry practices to provide an environment
that better suits the welfare of the animals for each season.
We believe the most important thing is quality of life, resulting in a quality product.
We support the Slow Food USA Movement by doing our part
in growing & raising some of our food, plus providing
you with an opportunity to do the same.
We hope you'll stay and explore more of our website or visit our blog.
